Its been over 2 months since the murder of George Floyd and since his death, a number of peaceful protests have occurred throughout the nation and globally revealing clear systemic issues that have been ignored for too long. Highlighting in full that Black Lives Matter. In these moments of activism, questions were raised as I saw myself in these spaces, asking what it means to be a photographer when out in a protest. The line between respect and truth within storytelling. Thoughts of ethics and ego were brought into view but I wasn’t able to fully process this alone, especially during an ongoing pandemic — The conversation in this episode brings a way to shed some of these questions into perspective between my friend Sharnaz Javid and board member of the Authority Collective Bunni Elian.
